Academic Advising

To graduate with a Sociology Major, students must earn a grade of "C" or better in each of the required courses, SOC 106, 206, 270, 271, 275, 292, and 300.

These requirements apply to students entering the program in 1999-2000 or later catalogs. Transfer students and others in previous catalog years should consult that catalog and the undergraduate advisor. It is strongly suggested that transfer students complete the A.A. degree or I.A.I. requirements prior to transferring to the Sociology Program.

Portfolio Guidelines

What is the portfolio requirement?

The Sociology Undergraduate Program requires that all majors who took Sociology 206 in the Fall 2003 or later must submit a portfolio, as part of the department's ongoing assessment of its majors' academic growth and development. Read more about the portfolio.
