David Brown, Associate Professor of Sociology

Dr. David Brown publishes in the areas of social theory, cultural sociology, historical sociology, and the sociology of educational stratification.  He is the author of Degrees of Control (Columbia U. Pr., 1995) and Social Blueprints:Conceptual Foundations of Sociology (Oxford U. Pr., 2004).  His current research involves an historical sociology of cultural consumption and economic production facets of the arts and crafts design movement in the U.S. and Europe.

Graduate school

Presenters are eligible to apply for Presentation Expense Reimbursement for research or creative projects presented at off-campus professional conferences or events. Funds are available through the Graduate School when matched by department/school funding.

Faculty Excellence Initiative Committee

Type and amount of funds will vary by year. For FY08, there are travel dollars available. In addition, for summer 08, there will be summer grants for which travel dollars may be included.
